Skt., rahasyapuja
from rahasya: mysterious, esoteric
and puja: worship, ritual
In this most secret form of yoni puja (the meditation-aspect of the secret and outer type), the practitioner is alone with the woman who has agreed to serve as the focus of energies, to serve as representative of the Goddess. This woman participating in this ritual observance may be one’s married wife, a lover, an initiate or perhaps a veshya; paid and professional woman specializing in such services.
The practitioner sits in front of and between her open legs. With complete concentration and with unwavering awareness, the worshipper will go through a cycle of ritual actions, each of which represents one of the five elements.
With the element ether in mind, he will move his hands across most of
her body in large circles, ranging from her legs to her breasts,
repeating these movement over and over.
During the next stage, and
with the element air in mind, he will restrict the movements of his
hands to her belly and thighs; once more repeating his strokes several
times.
During stage three, with the attention becoming focused now on the Yoni and representing the element fire, the
genital area is stroked - again and again - in a repetitive upward movement.
Next, the direction of stroking is changed and, symbolizing the element water, the Yoni is stroked in the manner as
during stage three - but with downward movements.
Finally, after a process that may have taken the better part of an hour, the element earth is given expression by
pressing one hand, softly but firmly, against the woman’s Yoni; resting there until the ritual finds its
natural end.
