A non-specific term used in Indian iconography to refer to any form of sharp-bladed tool or weapon, be it knife, dagger or sword.

The term is sometimes used as a "synonym" for churi (knife) or khadga (sword), a usage that is not "wrong" but certainly misleading and confusing.
