Five Emanations of Krodeshvari
Krodeshvari is a pure white dakini who appears
(in the bardo) in inseparable union
(yab-yum) with the powerful and fierce Chemchog Heruka,
an emanation of the Adibuddha Samantabhadra.
Together, they give rise to the five divine couples who appear from the 8th day of the bardo onwards,
each of who represents one of the five Buddha Families, with the male
Herukas also being associated with the Sambhogakaya Buddhas:
- Buddha-Krodhesvari
appears on the 8th day at the Center
with smoky-white colored Buddha-Heruka (of Vairocana)
- Vajra-Krodhesvari
appears on the 9th day in the East
with dark-blue Vajra-Heruka (of Aksobhya)
- Ratna-Krodhesvari
appears on the 10th day in the South
with yellow Ratna-Heruka (of Ratnasambhava)
- Padma-Krodhesvari
appears on the 11th day in the West
with red Padma-Heruka (of Amitabha)
- Karma-Krodhesvari
appears on the 12th day in the North
with green Karma-Heruka (of Amoghasiddhi)
