A Wonderful Book
The few accompanying images from this work cannot suffice to document the great variety of treasures collected in this book; but they can give you an idea of its scope. Although the subtitle's mention of South Asia may mislead some, it can be stated clearly that the work concerns an incredible variety of goddesses; mainly Indian ones but also some of their Tibetan equivalents or manifestations.
Apart from great photographs and artwork, the book also contains articles and essays by ten different contributors, all specialists in their respective fields - ranging from tribal and folk religions to archeaology, from art history to temple architecture.
