In Depth Information
What started with only 25 pages on these goddesses in his eleven years earlier work Hindu Goddesses, is now discussed in all detail in 252 pages of text: an exposition of the ten most important goddesses of India.
Having previously done some research of my own concerning on these ladies, I can't imagine that anyone ever will tackle this difficult subject again - or in more depth - than the author has done in this book.
This simply is Kinsley at his best - and anyone with only the slightest interest in Bhagala, Bhairavi, Bhuvaneshvari, Chinnamasta, Dhumavati, Kali, Kamala, Matangi, Sodasi or Tara just must study this book. There are only a few B/W illustrations; a fact that is the book's only fault.
